The Pillion connector saves supported Claude Code messages and tool records with your work. Your Claude Code model and execution settings remain under your control.
Install the connector
You need macOS, Claude Code, and the packaged Pillion connector. The package includes the recorder binary.
Request the package from Pillion support. Use the packaged release; the source plugin folder does not include the binary.
- Extract the package and open its folder in Terminal.
- Run the installer:
./install.sh claude- Reload Claude Code.
- Review and approve the connector’s capture hooks.
- Run the Pillion setup skill in your repository.
Choose the account and repositories
The setup skill opens browser sign-in. Use https://pillion.dev for hosted Pillion, or your organization’s Pillion address.
- Sign in with your usual Pillion account.
- Return to Connected devices if sign-in opens another page.
- Select the Repository owner and the repositories that allow capture.
- Select I allow conversation capture for these repositories.
- Select Allow this device.
- Return to Claude Code and ask the Pillion skill to check capture status.
The connector stores its credential in macOS Keychain. This credential permits conversation access on the selected repositories.
Git pushes use your separate Git credential. The connector credential cannot start tasks or change repository source.
Save a conversation with pushed work
Work in an approved repository, commit your change, and push it to Pillion. The connector checks the pushed commit before uploading its conversation checkpoint.
Open the repository’s Agent work page to read the saved conversation. Inspect Capture details for missing records.
Messages after the checkpoint remain local. Ask the Pillion skill to save them only when you intend to upload unpushed conversation history.
Follow Your first agent change to create a pull request. Then share selected events for review.
Check or stop capture
- Ask the Pillion skill for capture status to inspect pending or failed uploads.
- Ask it to pause capture to stop new capture and automatic uploads.
- Open Connected devices and select Revoke device to remove access.
The grant expires after 90 days. Run setup again to renew access or add repositories for another owner.
The Claude Code and Codex connectors share the local connection and queue. Removing one plugin preserves the other connector’s data.
